This is a practical skills course. It is designed to provide you with some mediation theory/style information and a lot of practice to enhance your ombuds work. Part of the Ombuds role is to mediate/facilitate difficult conversations within their organizations and this course will boost your skills.  In the neutral mediator/facilitator role, an ombuds utilizes a “face to face” process that supports visitors to give voice to their concerns and to better understand those of the other in order to gain clarity and seek positive outcomes.
