4th Annual Conference Regional Advisory Committee, Asia Pacific (RAC-AP)

About the

The 4th Annual Conference of the Regional Advisory Committee, Asia Pacific (RAC-AP) will be held at the Asian Development Bank headquarters in Manila, Philippines from 16–18 October  2019. This event, which coincides with the celebration of Conflict Resolution Day on 17 October, aims to provide opportunities for meaningful and productive discussions on the prospects and challenges of ombuds practice in the Asia-Pacific region. Intense analyses of relevant practices and case studies will help enrich learning and augment the skills, tools, and strategies necessary for working as an effective ombudsperson. An optional weekend getaway at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan is offered at the end of the conference.

 What You Should Expect

This is an excellent opportunity for ombuds practitioners in the Asia-Pacific region to expand their professional network. It provides a venue to exchange best practices and discuss emerging challenges, particularly on issues specific to the region, with others in the profession.

For participants who are based outside the region, the conference offers opportunities for them to enhance their ombuds skills, tools and strategies, and will allow them to bring back ideas that they can tailor to the needs of their staff and organization. There is no cost to attend this event. However, travel and accommodation expenses are to be borne by the participants.
