Being able to leverage your annual report is vital to the function of the Ombuds. Additionally, it allows you to provide upward feedback to executives in your organization and offers opportunities to create sustainability and growth for your office. Leveraging your annual report constructively can be the difference between sustainability and growth or shuttering your office. This webinar will explore formatting your annual report, expectations for the report, how to add value to your organization once you have annualized your data, and how to incorporate this information into your strategic planning to ensure sufficient staffing and funding for future growth. Objectives
BiographiesKarey joined South Texas College in March of 2005 as the Student Ombudsperson. Currently Karey serves as the Director of the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities. In his time at South Texas College Karey has facilitated group discussions centered on policy and procedural best practices at South Texas College. In February 2008 Karey was certified as a mediator after completing the 40-hour basic training required by the State of Texas. Karey has mediated several conflicts between students and faculty that resulted from interpersonal issues and communication gaps. Karey also has certificates of completion in Foundations of Organizational Ombudsman Practice and Foundations of Organizational Ombudsman Practice – The Next Steps for New and Growing Programs, Mediating Effective Resolutions to Disability Disputes, Basic CINERGY Conflict Management Coaching, and Keys to Negotiating for Mutual Gain – A Collaborative Approach; Karey is also a Certified Trainer of Workplace Conflict Resolution (Mediation Training Institute International). Karey graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville with a major in Criminology and a minor in Sociology. Karey completed a master’s degree in Human Services Public Safety with Capella University in June of 2009 and is currently working on completing a PhD in Public Safety. |
