Certification: Recertification Committee

About This Committee & Its Mission

The Recertification Committee is responsible for ensuring that certified individuals maintain the high standards required for the Certified Organizational Ombuds (CO-OP®) designation. The committee reviews recertification applications in a timely and thorough manner to confirm completeness and verify that each applicant has completed 60 hours of qualifying professional development (PDH) within the required four-year period. Members of the committee communicate with applicants regarding pending materials, review professional development agendas and descriptions from IOA, sector committees, and other sources to determine PDH eligibility, and approve the appropriate number of credits for each offering. The committee works collaboratively to ensure fair and consistent evaluations and partners with the Board of Certification to align on the application and interpretation of current certification policies and practices.
