About the Course

Over the course of 12 hours, Kira Nurieli will host a workshop series that guides Ombuds and Aspiring Ombuds to help individuals who face conflicts and challenges in their organizations and workplaces. We explore how Conflict Coaching fits in the broader Alternative Dispute Resolution context, key skills involved in the process, and where individual conversations fit within the larger organizational setting. The program also includes role plays, exercises, and feedback, in order to build participant capacity for applying the skills into their day-to-day practice.

Learning Objectives

After engaging in this session, participants will be better able to:

  • To define and understand the concept of "Conflict Coaching" and how it fits within the Ombuds role.
  • To identify core approaches and skills from conflict coaching that support the Ombuds Visitor experience.
  • To incorporate skills and tools of conflict coaching into the Ombuds practice and integrate it into the organizational setting.
