The IOA’s Introduction to the Organizational Ombuds Practice is a 12-hour, multi-day virtual course designed for those who want to better understand how ombuds uniquely address and mitigate conflict, and how they informally identify issues and trends that can lead to systemic change. Participants will be introduced to the four foundations of practice (confidentiality, impartiality, independence, and informality).
While this course is presented in English, individual participants may choose to see their captions translated into one of the following languages: Arabic, Bangla (beta), Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Czech, Danish (beta), Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French (France), German, Hebrew (beta), Hindi (beta), Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian (beta), Polish, Portuguese, Romanian (beta), Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil (beta), Turkish, Ukrainian, or Vietnamese. ASL and other access-related accommodations can also be arranged. Note: This class is not intended for those who currently practice (please see our Foundations course), or for those interested in a model that conducts formal investigations.
